Argus Tracking was founded in February 2007 in Auckland as a small, family-owned venture delivering vehicle risk and asset telematics software to New Zealand businesses. From the beginning, the focus was on making powerful fleet technology genuinely affordable — so that businesses of every size could benefit, not just those with large IT budgets.
Over nearly two decades, Argus grew nationwide, earning the trust of organisations across transport, agriculture, government, healthcare, construction, and more. That growth was built on something simple: technology that works, supported by people who care.
In late 2022, Argus was acquired by Banyan Software, a Canadian enterprise software holding company. Banyan's model is to preserve and strengthen the businesses it acquires — and for Argus, that means retaining the local expertise, customer relationships, and NZ-first focus that defined the business from day one.
